Metronidazole Injection
Metronidazole Injection is a colourless or almost colourless and transparent
solution. Each 100ml of Metronidazole Injection contains metronidazole
(C6H9N303)0.5g and sodium cation 14mg equivalent.
INDICATION:
Metronidazole is an anlianaerobia drug. It inhibits Bacteroides fragilis,
Clostridium, Anaerobia, Fusobacterium and Eubacterium.
It is mainly used in the atmenl of septicemia, bacteremia,peritonitis,
phlegmon, brain abscess,pelvic abscess and postoperation infections.
It is also suitable for the diseases of genitourinary system such as:
trichomoniasis, amebiasis,pyrifrom flagelTosis and acute ulcerous gingivitis.
USAGE AND DOSAGE:
Intravenous Drip.
For adults,100ml (0.5g) every 8 hours at a speed of 5ml/min. For children
under the age of twelve. 1.5ml(7.5mg metronidazole) per kg of body weight
every 8 hours.
PRECAUTIONS:
1 .The drug is generally used for a 7-days therapy with ihe usual cases. For the prolonged therapy with the severe cases, the dosage should be recommended by the doctors and the drug can not be administered in excess of 10 days.
2.The palients hypersensilive lo this drug,pregnant and nursing women are
inhibited to use this drug.
3.The drug is not recommended to be mixed with other drugs in the botlle
while dripping.
4.The dose of Metronidazole Injection should be reduced by half for the
patients with renal impairment.
5,The drug has the function of increasing the efficiency of anticoagulants
such as Warfarin.
6.The patienrs are nol allowed to drink during the treatment.
7.The treatment should be slopped while molorial irregularity and symptom
of central nervous system occur.
